Reaching South

The world is a playground for the online casino gambling industry as more and more internet gambling sites launch into the global market and begin looking at the emerging markets that have been traditionally closed to gambling companies in the past. South Africa is one of the countries that has traditionally shunned any expansions within a land or internet gambling industry in fear of creating widespread issues and addictions. More recently though the South African government has seen the wisdom in regulating the online casinos and thus providing a strong level of governmental control over an industry that is inevitable. For the foreign internet gambling companies, the prospect of an emerging South African market is exciting.

Competition is incredibly fierce in Europe and the UK right now and a lot of the online casinos are interested in the emerging markets because they provide a new base of gamblers who have very little previous brand inclination when it comes to gambling companies. To this end, 888 has announced that its Dragonfish gambling division of the company has signed a partnership deal with the Tsogo Sun Gaming Group in South Africa. This deal currently includes deals and developments within Tsogo’s land casinos and gambling industry but will eventually include a jointly launched venture into the online gambling industry once the South African government passes through the regulations that are currently in the drafting stage of development.

Dragonfish is one of the first European online casino gambling groups to make a strong launch into the South African gambling industry and the potential for a developed internet gambling industry is the primary reason that the global 888 gambling brand has chosen to specifically seek out a South African gaming partnership.
